Whenever I read a new book I try to write down as many interesting quotes or ideas that shift my perspective about the world.
I used to write these quotes into my tiny black notebook which I now use as a to-do list. But since then I moved to Apple Notes because they’re a lot more ‘search’ friendly.
Yesterday I opened the first few pages of my notebook and found a bunch of quotes that I had not yet transferred to my Apple Notes database.
As I was reading them I figured I’d share some of them with you.
So here are 10 bits of unsolicited advice from various self-improvement books:
It would be boring if things always went according to plan.
You don’t fail, you just find many ways that don’t work.
If you can’t figure out what makes you happy think about what makes you excited.

There’s a lot of competition.
The goal isn’t really that motivating.
To make money learn skills that are in demand for people with money.
Daily willpower is limited. Prioritize the most important task first.
Are you working to live or living to work?
Find something that feels like work to others and is like play to you.
Don’t be lazy by staying “busy”.
Winners are losers who are not afraid to lose.
I’d love to know what was the one piece of advice that changed or influenced your life.
Thanks for reading 👋.
